Privacy Policy

Bucketize is built so that your financial plan stays yours. It has no accounts, no tracking, and no servers that store your data. This policy explains what that means in practice.

The short version

Bucketize does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. Your income, buckets, expenses, and set-asides are stored on your iPhone. If you turn on sync, that data moves only through your own private iCloud account, which the developer cannot access.

Data stored on your device

The budget information you enter — income sources, buckets, planning items, amounts, due dates, and app preferences — is saved locally on your device. It is used only to run the app and show your dashboard. It is never sent to the developer.

iCloud sync

If you enable sync, Bucketize uses Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) to keep your plan up to date across your own Apple devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account under your Apple ID and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer has no access to it and operates no separate server or database. Sync is optional and can be turned off in Settings.

No tracking or analytics

Bucketize contains no advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and no device identifiers used to profile you. Because there is no account and no server, there is nothing to log about how you use the app.

Purchases

Bucketize is free to start, with an optional one-time in-app purchase to unlock unlimited items. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. The developer never receives your payment details and sees only the anonymous, aggregate sales information Apple provides to all developers.

Notifications

If you enable reminders for yearly charges, those notifications are scheduled locally on your device by iOS. They are not sent through any external server and involve no personal data leaving your iPhone.

Face ID and passcode

The optional app lock uses Apple's on-device authentication. Your Face ID, Touch ID, and passcode data are managed by iOS and are never made available to, or stored by, Bucketize.

Data sharing

None. Bucketize does not share, rent, or sell any information with third parties. The only data movement is the optional iCloud sync into your own account, handled by Apple.

Children

Bucketize is a general-audience budgeting tool and is not directed at children. Because it collects no personal data, it gathers nothing from users of any age.

Your control

  • Delete any item at any time from within the app.
  • Export your planning items to CSV to keep your own backup.
  • Remove all app data by deleting Bucketize from your device.
  • Manage or disable iCloud sync from your device Settings.

Changes to this policy
