Cruftless is pre-release software for macOS. It is a local tool for inspecting and permanently removing selected Xcode and CoreSimulator storage. These terms explain the project’s present distribution and do not replace the licence that accompanies its source code.

Source licence controls

Cruftless is available under the MIT License. The copy of that licence distributed with the source code governs your rights to use, copy, modify, and distribute the software. If these page terms conflict with that licence, the MIT License controls.

Pre-release status and installation

Cruftless is not currently distributed as a signed standalone app or through Homebrew. The project page’s Homebrew notice is informational only; it is not an offer of an installer. Building and running the source is your decision and responsibility.

Permanent removal

Cruftless is intentionally a destructive tool. It asks you to review an action before permanent deletion, but you remain responsible for deciding whether an item is safe for your work to remove. In particular, archives, simulator content, toolchains, caches, and build artifacts may have consequences that matter to you even when the app explains them. Keep backups of anything you may need.

No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cruftless is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. The MIT License includes the full warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.

Third-party software and services

Cruftless interacts with macOS, Xcode, and CoreSimulator components that are provided by Apple. Their availability and behavior are outside the project’s control. Any third-party materials identified in the source repository remain subject to their applicable terms and notices.

Changes and contact
